Daveen received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from Livingston College and her
Master’s degree in Social Work from Rutgers University’s School of Social Work in
2009.
Currently, Daveen is a Supervisor at the NJ Division of Child Protection and
Permanency (DCP&P) and having worked with the agency for over 25 years. She is an
experienced leader and an exceptional role model to her staff and peers. Daveen is also
a 2012 graduate of the Violence Against Women Certificate program and became a
Domestic Violence Intervention Response Team Advocate after completing her training
through the Domestic Violence Intervention Certificate program in 2023.
She is also a Field Instructor for the Baccalaureate Child Welfare Education Program
(BCWEP) and is often called upon to take interns. Daveen is an active member of the
Communication Workers of America (CWA) Local 1037 Union serving on the Executive
Board as Vice President of Primary Level and Shop Steward.
Most importantly, Daveen loves to travel, spend time with her family and helping others
by giving back. Daveen serves on the Women’s Council and in the R.E.A.C.H. ministry
at the Abundant Life Family Worship Church in New Brunswick, NJ. She also volunteers
by serving at local food banks or with Girlz vs. World, a non-profit agency that focuses
on community partnerships, empowerment and self-determination through activities,
education, mentoring and hosting youth/ family events.
